TRICEPS MUSCLE
Triceps brachii - Muscles
This action helps prevent any displacement of the humerus. The long head also assists with the extension and adduction of the arm at the shoulder joint. The lateral head is also active during extension of the forearm at the elbow joint when the forearm is supinated or pronated.
POSTERIOR COMPARTMENT OF THIGH
The muscles in the posterior compartment of the thigh are collectively known as the hamstrings. They consist of the biceps femoris, semitendinosus and semimembranosus, which form prominent tendons medially and laterally at the back of the knee.
As group, these muscles act to extend at the hip, and flex at the knee. They are innervated by the sciatic nerve (L4-S3).
In this article, we shall examine the anatomy of the muscles in the posterior thigh – their attachments, actions and clinical correlations.
FIBROUS LIVER
Fibrosis can sometimes be reversed if the cause is identified promptly and corrected. However, after months or years of repeated or continual damage, fibrosis becomes widespread and permanent. The scar tissue can form bands throughout the liver, destroying the liver’s internal structure and impairing the liver’s ability to regenerate itself and to function. Such severe scarring is called cirrhosis.
STOMACH
Anatomical Position
The stomach lies within the superior aspect of the abdomen.
It primarily lies in the epigastric and umbilical regions, however, the exact size, shape and position of the stomach can vary from person to person and with position and respiration.
Anatomical Structure
Divisions of the Stomach
The stomach has four main anatomical divisions; the cardia, fundus, body and pylorus:
FIBROUS LIVER
Liver fibrosis is the excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix proteins including collagen that occurs in most types of chronic liver diseases. Advanced liver fibrosis results in cirrhosis, liver failure, and portal hypertension and often requires liver transplantation.
TIBIALIS ANTERIOR MUSCLE
This muscle is the most anterior and medial of all four anterior leg muscles. It originates from the proximal portion of the leg, precisely, from the lateral tibial condyle and proximal half of the tibial shaft, in addition to the adjacent portion of the interosseous membrane.
liver
The liver holds about one pint (13%) of the body's blood supply at any given moment. The liver consists of 2 main lobes. Both are made up of 8 segments that consist of 1,000 lobules (small lobes). These lobules are connected to small ducts (tubes) that connect with larger ducts to form the common hepatic duct.
The liver is a large, meaty organ that sits on the right side of the belly. Weighing about 3 pounds, the liver is reddish-brown in color and feels rubbery to the touch. Normally you can't feel the liver, because it's protected by the rib cage.
